comma is new, and the first hosts carry more risk than the ones who come later — you are bringing your people to a platform nobody has heard of yet. Founding Hosts is what we give back for that. It is a small programme on purpose, and it is run by hand.
A small first cohort. Applications open.
Paid tickets normally carry comma's 5% on top of Stripe's processing. Approved Founding Hosts pay 0% of ours for six months — and because that fee is added at checkout, your tickets get cheaper for attendees too.
Not a support inbox. You get the people building comma, and the things you ask for go to the front of the queue.
Not a help doc. We sit down with you — in person or on a call — and build the page, the RSVP questions and the invite together.
Nothing contractual, and no exclusivity — keep using Instagram, WhatsApp or anything else. What genuinely helps:
What you run, roughly how often, and who turns up. Two paragraphs is plenty.
A real person reads every application. You will hear back either way, usually within a few days.
If it is a fit, we build your first event page with you and switch on the fee waiver.
Everything after that is yours. We stay out of the way unless you want us.
No. We care that people actually turn up, not that a number is large. A twelve-person supper club that runs every month is a better fit than a dormant follower count.
No, and we would rather say so plainly. Some platforms pay per RSVP; that money comes from investors and stops when they stop. comma's model is that free events are free and we take 5% of paid tickets — which is exactly the part we are waiving for you.
The fee returns to the normal 5% on paid tickets. Free events stay free, as they always are. Your badge stays.
No — it is switched on for your community when we approve you, and it applies from that moment. Nothing changes for free events, which never carried a fee.
Yes, whenever. Your contacts export to CSV in one click and the list is yours — that is the point of the whole thing.
